Hartland Peninsula and the North Devon Photo Tour - April 2024 - Devon |

Friday 19th till Monday 22nd April 2024

Join me for an unforgettable coastal photography experience between the stunning Hartland Peninsula and the North Devon region visiting some of the more popular and well-hidden photography spots.

Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided in a well-located Airbnb Villa on the coast and each attendee will have their own private room. You will need to provide your own bath towel and toiletries.

Breakfast will be provided and will include Cereal and Toast with Orange Juice and hot drinks, with bacon butties cooked out on location after our sunrise shoot each day.

Lunch, Dinner and Snacks throughout the day are not included, although I do have hot drink-making facilities inside my van.

Photography Opportunities: Hartland Quay, Blackcurch Rock, and the other parts of the coastline in the vicinity, located on the North Devon coast offer breathtaking landscape photographic opportunities. This rugged and picturesque stretch of coastline provides a diverse range of natural features and unique compositions that are perfect for capturing stunning images. One of the highlights is Hartland Quay with its dramatic cliffs, which tower above the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. These imposing cliffs create a sense of grandeur and provide a striking contrast against the sea. We can take advantage of the changing light throughout the day, capturing the cliffs in different moods and atmospheric conditions. The coastline in North Devon is world-renowned for its stunning rock formations and sea stacks. These geological wonders, sculpted by centuries of erosion, add an element of intrigue and visual interest to the landscape.

Locations planned to visit: We will be working in a variety of locations from the Hartland region to Ilfracombe, but there will not be a lot of travel involved each day, as I would rather maximize the photography time.

Transport: Transport is not covered on this trip, I will help to sort out a carpool with the group, and I will be happy to carry attendees' equipment in my van between locations. There 1 will be room for 1 person in my van and another vehicle will need to have 2 people in it, this will help with parking at all locations we visit.

Workshop Details: On Friday, we will start the session before sunset at 2 pm, the session will start with us immediately photographing until sunset. From here we will check into our accommodation and then go get something to eat and have a look through the images we have shot.

Saturday will be spent photographing the coastline from Sunrise to Sunset and we will work a few locations, then afterward we will head out for dinner, followed by an image review back at the accommodation

Sunday we will do much of the same as the previous day along with checkout out of the accommodation, after another full day of photography after sunset the session will end we will then depart and head homeward.

Monday we will do much of the same as the previous day along with checkout out of the accommodation, after a lengthy sunrise shoot the session will end at midday and we will then depart and head homeward.

Please do note, that this is a tour, not a dedicated photo workshop, so please do not be surprised when you see me taking photos alongside you. This being said I am always on hand to offer some advice if you want to improve your photography during the session as I thrive off seeing people progress in their own photographic journey.

I always have a spare set of Formatt Hitech landscape filters in the van in case anybody would like to borrow some.

Essential Photography Kit: DSLR Camera Spare Batteries and memory cards Wide-angle lens Sturdy tripod Lens cleaning kit Camera bag Appropriate clothing for the weather Food and drink Sturdy footwear

Group Size and Booking: This small group workshop accommodates a maximum of 3 attendees plus myself.

Payment via the website checkout system confirms your booking.

You can also secure your spot with a £100 deposit and the booking is confirmed upon payment, to arrange this please send me an email or message as this will need to be paid by bacs. The remaining balance will be due on Wednesday 28th February 2024.

If you wish to pay in full by bacs as opposed to Paypal, I can provide you with bacs details to pay in full in 1 payment.

Additional Information: Certain parts of our photography adventure will involve walking on unmade paths and working at heights from cliff tops. I fully recommend bringing suitable foul-weather clothing and very sturdy footwear, as our workshop will proceed regardless of the weather conditions.

Please do note that the area has some very steep footpaths that lead down to the more photogenic areas, so, as a result, you will need to be comfortable walking on unmade paths and with steep gradients, attendees' safety is always my 100% priority, no image is ever worth unnecessary risk.

Insurance and Meals: Camera and personal insurance are not included in the workshop cost. Furthermore, the workshop fee does not cover travel costs, lunch and evening meals or any car parking charges.

The accommodation is equipped with full cooking facilities for your convenience if you wish to make yourself a lunch or meal instead of eating out.
